Growing a Healthy Marriage is an 8-hour small group enrichment experience for married couples. Over the course of 4 to 8 weeks, couples will journey together through eight sessions utilizing insights from the Couple Checkup (an outstanding marriage assessment). Specifically, sessions will cover key areas of marriage including healthy communication, conflict management, household responsibilities, financial relationship, and sexual relationship
The content for Growing a Healthy Marriage was designed by NWA Healthy Marriages specifically for the couples of Northwest Arkansas. Marriage Champions who have been trained by NWA Healthy Marriages guide couples through the enrichment experience and provide their own unique marriage insight. Marriage Champions can lead groups in almost any context: a church, a business, a neighborhood group, a school, or a community organization.
Marriage small groups are growing in popularity throughout the world as a way for couples to connect with other married couples, have fun, grow as individuals and feel more confident, secure, intimate, hopeful, empowered and excited about their own marriage. Small group experiences have a tremendous impact on those who participate:
If the small group concept will not work due to scheduling, space, personal preference, etc., Growing a Healthy Marriage is also designed to work well on an individual level with couples. While the group context is often ideal, participating in Growing a Healthy Marriage individually can also powerfully impact couples.
Finally, a great advantage to Growing a Healthy Marriage is that all of the materials and costs (including the Couple Checkup) are covered by NWA Healthy Marriages. It is completely free. The greatest advantage of the enrichment experience, however, is the interactions couples have with Marriage Champions as they work to impact couples on a deep, personal level.
